This section includes foundations that support their own programs or award few grants to community organizations.

The compilation represents foundations in any of the following categories:

• Operating foundations established to conduct and support programs within their own organizational structure. These usually conduct research or provide a direct service that the foundation supports.
• Grants made to pre-selected specific organizations on a consistent basis.
• Make few if any grants. Programs funded are related directly to the foundation's interest.
